Strong start for Inigo Iglesias Bravo and Fusport-RT Motorsports by SKM-Kawasaki after strong WorldSSP300 weekend at Barcelona
Barcelona, Spain - In the first race weekend of the 2024 WorldSSP300 season at the Circuit de
Barcelona-Catalunya, Inigo Iglesias Bravo and the Fusport-RT Motorsports by SKM-Kawasaki team put
in an exciting set of performances.
On Saturday, Inigo Iglesias Bravo rode an impressive Race 1 and won the race. Unfortunately, he
received a 3-second time penalty afterwards due to contact with another rider, resulting in a final 13th
place. Teammate Petr Svoboda also showed a strong race and finished in a strong fourth place.
On Sunday, Inigo recovered and showed his potential as this season's title contender. He took a
convincing victory in Race 2, with the first seventeen riders, finishing within two seconds of each other.
With this win, Inigo is now second in the standings, just one point behind the leader. So, despite
Saturday's disappointment, the weekend can be considered successful for Inigo. Petr finished the weekend
fifth and is currently fourth in the championship, which is certainly also a positive achievement.
The next race of the WorldSSP300 championship will take place at the famous TT Circuit in Assen, the
Netherlands. This is a home race for the Fusport-RT Motorsports by SKM-Kawasaki team and they are
therefore eagerly looking forward to this weekend. The Dutch round of the WorldSBK is scheduled from
19 to 21 April.
Team manager Rob Vennegoor is satisfied with the team's performance: "We have started this season
well! Both Inigo and Petr have done a fantastic job, although we could have left Barcelona with a double
victory. That makes it a bit sour, but we still have plenty of time to put this right.
